System Simulation

The DOE-NE Crosscutting Technology Development IES program focuses on the research and development of tools and technologies that lead to demonstration of integrated energy systems that have a clear path toward commercialization.

Within System Simulation, researchers are developing a framework for modeling IES that accommodates various reactor types, renewable technologies, and energy users. The Framework for Optimization of ResourCes and Economics ecosystem (FORCE) provides an interface to access several code repositories that individually answer a portion of the problem.

For more details on each of the tools that comprise FORCE and to access the opensource tools, visit Summary of Software Tools.
